Pioneering High-Efficiency Photonic Solutions for Next-Gen Data Transfer
One of the 1st batch winners of the IC Taiwan Grand Challenge in the Sustainability category, Polaris Electro-Optics focuses on developing high-efficiency, energy-saving photonic products. Founded in the US, Polaris has rapidly become a leader in the field of silicon photonics modulators, with its team spending the last two years advancing their breakthrough technology based on ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals (FNCs). This proprietary class of electro-optic materials leverages the Pockels effect, allowing for high-speed (picosecond) operation, making it a highly suitable solution for next-generation optical data transfer applications.
Polaris’ unique ability to integrate FNCs into silicon photonics ICs without disrupting standard fabrication processes sets it apart.
